A bit of a slog in parts, as there are many side adventures. But the story as a whole is epic and the basis for many modern references and subsequent works. The end is sufficiently epic to make it all worth it. Perhaps the archaic language is the best part!

A fun heist story. I definitely enjoyed it as a fantastic romp through the archetypal heist adventure.

I really like this series and most readers will be happy with Ghost Story, I imagine. I personally didn't prefer it though. I did like the premise (no spoilers) but was happy to regain the main plot in the subsequent story.

A collection of works loosely themed around HPL's “dream cycle.“ Usually more whimsical and less dark than his other works, all tales still contain that typical HPL horror in some degree. Some of the stories are very short, others are novella length. Some are excellent, others mediocre. Overall I enjoyed the collection and would recommend for those who enjoy fantasy as well as horror.

Speaking of the plot, it was interesting and quite good as a horror read. The ending was the best part descriptively, if unsurprising.

This is one of HPL's longer works (a short novel). It shares plot elements with other HPL works but is unique enough to not be boring to someone who has read his other material. The 5th, The Demoiselle d'Ys (my fav), is a supernatural tale of a different kind than the preceding. The rest is a collection of bizarre poems & some short stories mostly about artists & romance with no (or few) elements that link them to the earlier works. Overall worth reading, but a mixed bag.

I love geology and paleontology and even I thought there was too much science jargon in the book. The ambiance is great, but a little less evocative than some other HPL works. There are about two chapters that are total info dumps and get tedious, but otherwise a must for classic horror readers.

One of my favorite plays by the Bard. Magical and lighthearted, but with a moral. Perhaps more of a fun one to read, though there are still parts (as in all of Shakespeare's plays) that drag on with seemingly little impact on the larger plot. Contains some of the most recognizable characters of faerie lore now peppered throughout popular culture.

Not light reading. Some of the tales in this work are fun, funny, and even a bit exciting. Some, however, are extremely boring. Of note, The Tale of Melibee is perhaps the most boring thing I have ever read! If one wants to complete this to earn the achievement of reading the classics, good luck! If one would rather read select tales, it would prove more enjoyable.
